Our most popular Kickstarter rewards are $25 (all three ebooks) and $50 (all three physical books). A couple of backers asked if we could provide upgrades for the popular ebook reward levels, to include something tangible like postcards. Sadly, this wouldn’t be practical because it would involve our authors writing 300+ extra sets of postcards, plus mailing costs. However! We really wanted to add a bonus reward to celebrate hitting 75% of our funding goal, so here’s our new behind-the-scenes bonus commentary reward!
This digital pack will include:
- "DVD commentary"-style notes from each of the three authors, giving extra background information on their novels, the writing process, and their experiences when going through the editing/publishing process for the first time.
- early test sketches from the artists.
- character sheets with extra detail and backstory info that didn’t make it into the books.
- fandom meta-style letters or essays from the authors.
- terrible selfies of everyone slaving over their manuscripts while lurking in an un-heated garret, as is traditional for all first-time authors.
- behind-the-scenes diaries or messages from some of the editors/publishers at BBP.
This is all exclusive content that will only ever be available in the behind-the-scenes commentary pack. We thought something like this would be cool not just for backers in general (because you guys are special and are helping to launch the books into the wide wide world), but specifically to a fandom audience.
As fans, we often wish we could learn more about our favourite characters and stories, and this way the BBP authors can help with that. It’s already been really interesting to see the questions our authors have received during their Q&As on Tumblr. Nat hasn’t done a Q&A yet, but Erin’s questions so far have seemed more fannish (“What do you think the main fandom ships will be?”) while Kady’s were to do with the writing process (“How do you navigate writing strong/weak female characters?”). Each of the three authors will have different ideas on what they should include in their behind-the-scenes letters and essays, but it will all definitely be interesting to people who enjoyed the books. :)
The behind-the-scenes commentary pack will be available at $35 or $60+, as upgrades from the $25/$50 all-three-ebooks/physical books reward levels. Here’s what you get in the new upgrades:
- $35: All three ebooks, plus exclusive backer updates, plus the behind-the-scenes commentary pack.
- $60: All three physical books, plus exclusive backer updates, personalised postcard updates from the authors, and the behind-the-scenes commentary pack.
Every pledge above $60 will automatically include the new digital pack. Anyone with a lower pledge level can just add another $10 (or whatever) onto their original pledge, and select this upgrade. And if there’s something you’d really like to see included that we haven’t mentioned here already, we’re open to suggestions! :)
Not gonna lie, I’m kinda looking forward to Kira in 3b. I hope she’s rad as hell. (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
Also more ladies to draw with wavy hair, thank you teen wolf.
We are very excited to announce the launch of Big Bang Press!
Big Bang Press is a small publishing company that will publish original fiction by talented fanfiction authors. If you’re familiar with fanfic, you’ll know that there are A LOT of amazing writers out there, but many of them don’t get a chance to share their original fiction with the world. We plan to publish novels by three writers you may already know: Erin Claiborne (eleveninches), Kady Morrison (gyzym), and Natalie Wilkinson (febricant).
Excerpts from all three novels are available on our website, bigbangpress.org, along with sample art from our cover artists, and general information about Big Bang Press and its authors. The novels can all be pre-ordered in both ebook and hard copy format from our Kickstarter page, which is how we’re funding the publishing costs. There are also a lot of other cool rewards available through Kickstarter, including art prints, exclusive short stories, and the opportunity have any of our authors to write something just for you — including Kady/gyzym offering to finish some of her WIPs!
For this project to succeed, we need to raise $40,000. This pays the authors, the cover artists, the website designer and publishing team, and funds the publishing process itself. For more information on our plans, see our website and Kickstarter page.
You can learn about our selection process on Kickstarter, but for now, here’s the lowdown on our three novels.
"Sixteen year-old Ewan Mao knows one thing for certain: according to prophecy, it’s his destiny to kill the evil tyrant whose dark reign has terrorized Britain. Although he’s just a normal boy, deep down Ewan is confident that he has exactly what it takes to be a hero. But when Ewan’s big moment comes, he freezes. His best friend, the clever and talented Oliver Abrams, defeats the villain for him, and Ewan’s bright future crumbles before his eyes.
Five years later, Oliver has a job as an Unusual in the government’s Serious Magical Crimes Agency, the life he and Ewan always dreamed of. But a routine investigation leads him and his partner, Sophie Stuart, to uncover a dangerous and powerful cult… one that seems to have drawn his former best friend into a plot to end the world.”
A deftly plotted, hysterically funny take on Chosen One narratives, A Hero at the End of the World expertly walks the fine line between satire and sincerity. Its sensitive depiction of a broken friendship and wry take-down of unfairly great expectations will appeal to all readers of modern fantasy.
"Mim Robinson never expected to find herself back on Juniper Lane, the opulent suburban street where she spent one hazy childhood summer, nor to be taken in by her aunt after a nasty break-up. She certainly didn’t expect to find herself striking up a strange, unexpected friendship with the intimidating Nadia Bahjat, the only other twenty-something on the street. But now that she’s here, Mim thinks she might just do anything to stay – no matter the cost.
Meanwhile, Nadia, a professional chef and a perennial disappointment to her parents, has been forced by her father’s illness to return to Barn Ridge, Ohio. Though she loathes her wealthy, seemingly perfect neighbors as much as she always has, she’s increasingly finding her growing friendship with Mim a balm to heal old wounds. But the longer she stays on Juniper Lane, the more she begins to suspect that when it comes to her family, not all is as it seems.”
An innovatively structured queer romance that encompasses both a cutting satire of suburban American life and a nuanced depiction of the psychological aftermath of abuse, Juniper Lane is a moving paean to the freedom of embracing the chaotic uncertainty of adulthood.
"Francis Harding has always been good for one thing: doing what his family tells him. So when his mother asks him to travel across the Atlantic to hunt down his mysteriously vanished sister Catherine, he goes without hesitation, only to find himself an unwelcome shapeshifter in a strange city looking for a woman who may not want to be found.
Without any alternative, he finds himself turning to Jamie Besckei, a slippery but compelling character from the wrong side of the tracks. His particular brand of magic makes Francis’ skin crawl, but it just might help him track down Catherine. As his own magical abilities begin to fail him and his options grow fewer, Francis makes a bargain that binds him to Jamie in ways he never expected, and that will change the course of his life forever.”
A fantasy noir cum psychological thriller set against the backdrop of a grim, quasi-dystopian Europe only a half step away from our own, Savage Creatures is a haunting meditation on the destructive power and vital importance of family that will rivet readers from first page to last.

HELLO i’m up for auction for the Wolf Pack Charity Project, so bid on me (or others! there’s some rad folks also up for auction) to help out some woofs and things & stuff will be drawn
A quick dumb doodle! I’m trying to get back to drawing again, so I’m just gonna try cranking small doodlepops out to get back into the swing of things.
I’m really digging the parallels between Stiles’ hallucination in the 3B clip and Lydia’s hallucination from season 2. (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
How do you draw fluff? I don’t know these things.
This is for Cara, commissioned by Daunt!! Both are most fab ladies and I felt bad for taking so long and ended up going beyond a sketch, ah haha;; She asked for Derek and Stiles, or Stiles and a puppy. All dogs are puppies no matter what age or size okay. All dogs.
I have this dumb headcanon now about Derek and Stiles adopting a big ol’ Newfoundland (who I’ve been calling Herodotus in my head, eep). If the fact that both of them may be mildly aquaphobic now and Newfies are known for being good swimmers and are used for water rescue, no one brings it up (to their faces, at least)
Long time no see? (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ I haven’t drawn at all lately;; Anywho, I’ve been wanting to draw these three since the end of 3A.
One thing that got me, after Emily incepted me into telling her about the Norse world tree Yggdrasil, is that it has three roots supporting it, which lead to three wells/springs. And in Teen Wolf, there’s three characters who sacrifice themselves to what is, for all intents and purposes, a world tree. By drowning.
I wasn’t gonna upload this ‘cause it’s boring as all get out, but twitter told me to do it anyways;;; lies down
I got inspired by a bunch of role reversal AUs here on the toombles, ended up getting one stuck in my head. Melissa is a retired hunter and has been trying to keep Scott out of the supernatural, Allison gets bitten by Peter, Lydia’s the human/potential emissary (I CAN DREAM OKAY), both Derek and Cora are lurking around but Cora becomes the Alpha instead.
I was trying to figure out what to do with Stiles, since he’d end up switching places with Lydia, and I ended up making him a Drekavac, these spirits in Slavic folklore. There’s a lot of differing lore on what they look like, but I went with the version where they can look like human children (teenager/general human, whatever, in Stiles’ case) and can take the form of a fox. Their cries are omens of death, but depending on what form you’re hearing, it means two different things: human cry is for human death, fox cry is for animal death. (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
Some people already noticed this, but Welcome to Night Vale opened a new shop through Topatoco and I may or may not have something being sold in there.
It’s limited edition, so once they sell out, that’s all there is!
"Don’t, don’t do this. I had a vision. A vision of peace."
Flower of choice today, though they get pretty lost in there (and I was pretty lazy tbh), is olive and olive branches, which’re a symbol of peace. (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
"Ignite. Set fire to your home. While it’s not true that wolves refuse to eat arsonists, it’s a scientific fact that they’re unable to detect the presence of one."
—Welcome to Night Vale, ep. 8: The Lights in Radon Canyon
Are you listening to Welcome to Night Vale? If not, you should be. I fell pretty hard into it these past couple days
and have dragged several people down along with me. I heard this line and felt compelled to draw some Kate.
